Company ProfileClaflin Academy was started by a mother and daughter team in response to the lack of good educational opportunities in sewing and design. Mary Claflin worked as a professional seamstress and costumer for the Oregon Shakespearean Festival in Ashland, Oregon for ten seasons, and her daughter Tiffany Claflin-Spurlock was born and raised in theatrical costuming, completing her first sewing project at age six. After several years of hearing from friends and clients frustrated with the lack of classes in garment design and construction, they put their heads and collective energies together and formed the Claflin Academy.
We've Moved! To meet the needs of our growing number of students, we have moved the school to Fasturn Junction at 3859 South Stage Rd, Medford, OR. We now have more than 3 times the classroom space, plenty of parking and easy access to Fasturn's excellent supply of fabric and sewing supplies.
