If you have ever had difficulty finding a bra that fits? Then this is the class for you! Our bra making class is designed to teach students to construct bras that actually fit properly and at a fraction of the cost for ready made. This is a "hands-on" class. By the last class each student will have a bra pattern that is customized to their individual shape. We will cover different types of bras, including underwire and pushup and sports. Techniques will include how to sew on stretch fabrics. The difference between braided, non-roll and lingerie elastic will be discussed. The correct way to measure for a proper fitting bra will be demonstrated and each student will be measured. Specialized materials will be available from Claflin Academy. Kits will also be available for purchase. Skill Level III: Students need to have good basic sewing skills and able to use a sewing machine. Classes consist of two 5 hour sessions. Session 1: Pattern, fabric and measurement for proper size. Each student will trace off their own pattern and learn how to choose the proper fabric and notions as well as how to lay out and cut the pattern pieces. Session 2: Demonstrations of construction techniques, final fittings and professional finishing.
